THE NATIONAL CHILDREN’S STUDY
A very exciting, extensive national study of the impact of the environment on children’s health has been in the planning stages for many years. The National Children’s Study will examine the effects of environmental influences on the health and development of more than 100,000 children across the United States, following them from before birth until age 21. The goal of the study is to improve the health and well-being of children. Pilot programs are now in place. For more information, see The National Children’s Study web site. Two study sites were added in 2007, The University of New Mexico and The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. See new study sites for details.
